Community Service

Laraine has volunteered in Florence School District One (FSD 1) in various capacities while her children were students there and continues to contribute her time and support even though they are in college. From 2010 to 2015, she was the President of the Association of Parents, Teachers and Students, an active member of the School Improvement Council and a member of the Booster Club (serving as an officer for one year) at West Florence High School. She worked hard to serve the school with teacher appreciation luncheons, various fundraisers to raise money, providing teacher grants, giving her time as needed at sporting and academic events and in many other ways to support the school. Laraine also contributed to and attended district-wide events that impacted all schools in FSD1. Laraine served on many other committees and boards in school districts around the country where she has lived in the past.

Laraine is currently a Board member of SNAC (Shelter and Nutrition For All Children) in Florence School District One. SNAC’s mission is twofold. It’s first mission is to help families within the school district who are homeless get back “on their feet” and its second mission is to prevent other families from getting evicted form their homes. This assistance includes monetary assistance for a period of time, guidance and life skills. Laraine enjoys her role of fundraising, creating awareness, and volunteering her services to SNAC in any way she can.

Laraine is also an active member of the Florence Monday Rotary Club and the PeeDee Business and Professional Women’s Network.
